How To Organize Coupons

When it comes to using coupons, organization is essential.  When decided how to organize coupons, you have to find what works best for you. When you use blogs to find deals, they always refer to the date the coupons came out, and the source of the coupons, such as “SS 11-14”.  That indicates that it is a Smart Source coupon from November 14th.  Because coupons are identified this way, it makes sense to store and organize them this way.  Creating a filing system is the best way to do this.  A small file box works well for this.  Each week when you get coupons, make a new folder for each source of coupons (Smart Source, Red Plum, Procter & Gamble).  Mark it with the date and the source (SS 11-14, for example).  The beauty of this system is that you don’t need to clip the coupons until you are going to use them, which saves time!  They are also easy to find.  Once all the coupons have expired, reuse the folder.

  1. I file mine by EXpiration date. Sub-files under that are for "Grocery", "household", "pet supplies", "pharmacy", "other"

Works well, is easy, and best is that I never miss the date it must be used by...I also hace a sub-file for those treasured OVERAGE coupons...tho' they usually don't stay in the file more than a week!
